Bald Vamp - for Beyond Stokers Dracula Trading card set

Bald Vamp

Here is another vampire set that I worked on recently, I was only able to contribute 15 cards due to other projects that were all due at the same time. I decided to just have fun with this set and go completely cartooney, because I knew that the next couple of sets I would be working on would be of a more realistic style ( the walking dead & the hobbit).

The Collector

Pencil sketch, 8x10 80.lb paper. also used a couple of prismacolor pencils. I started off with a cartoon like character but thats not my style so I had to add a little creepy in there by having him collecting human skulls & giving him some sharp chompers!

Mickey WIP

Here's a work in progress piece of mickey mouse, just a bit meaner looking. I kind of rushed it & I might start over, but it does need a bit of work either way. I'll post an update later on.

Weird Rabbit

Here's a weird lookin rabbit I did with copic markers & a white prisma pencil for highlights. Done on 9x12 50lb paper. Was going to make him a cave-rabbit & have him dragging a female rabbit who's been knocked out, but I new that I wasn't going to have the room on the page.

Monster Warm Up Sketch

Not much to say about this one.....a warm up sketch that turned out to be a monster....just shaded the background with pencil as not to waste too much marker ink. Done with copic markers on 9x12 50lb paper.

Squid Boy!!!

Another Copic marker sketch, did all the skin tones with warm greys, tentacles were neutral greys & eyes cool greys. The background is kinda screwed, I was testing out copic's airbrushing system....works well for smooth background elements, only very light use, not very precise, but can give you the illusion of wide coverage on bigger pieces..anyway, this one was fun to do, I love the smooth gradation you can get with copics!
