This is my final illustration done for The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey trading card set. 

And although this isn't a very popular or sought after character by collectors, this is seriously one of my favorite cards from the set.... Wish I had kept it.

Random creature sketch

I was going to post another war of the worlds sketch card, but I wanted to take a break from posting those to show some of my random sketches. I've recently been experimenting with tan toned paper, and i have to say that I love it. so I'll be posting some of those drawings over the next few days.

Here we have a 5x7 random monster, done with pencil, copics,ink, colored pencil, a ball point pen & a little gouache.

"It Came from the Cylinder" - war of the worlds sketch card for cult stuff

Here's another of my "war of the Worlds " sketch cards being put out by Cult Stuff over in the U.K. I have to admit...I had a ton of fun working on this set. you had a certain level of freedom to do what you want, as long as you new the literature, you were fine. I wish I could have done more, however people who wanted me on sets kept promising me work & never came through....so I got screwed. Watcha gonna do?

This card was inspired by the part of the novel when the first martian cylinder opened & the protagonist saw the creatures eyes glaring at him. Done with copic markers & multi-liners.

This one is another monster....I just love monsters, thats why I like these fantasy sets so much, they give you the freedom to do what you want, done with copic markers , as well as a brush pen.

I'm doing a total of twenty sketch cards & one base card. The interesting thing about these cards is that they unfold to display a larger sketch. They are called z-sketch cards. so on the upper right hand corner is the front of the card & the lower left hand corner is the back with the signature. The rest of it folds up like a map. I've included two pics, one is just the card front & the other is the entire sketch, unfolded.

Well I have some other cards I've been working on that I will be posting, once approval has been reached!

I used copic multiliners & markers for the majority of these cards.
