The Jackal Goblin

The Jackal Goblin is one of the most feared predators known to all living things. Although Named after a jackal they are actually the evolutionary end result of cross breeding between a particular genus of goblin, and that of a baboon. The Joining of these two species resulted in the cunning & vileness of goblins with the agility & ability to reason from their simian side. You will only see the crown of bones protruding from the head of males in the species.

Although they are a relatively small creature (only a bit larger than that of a chimpanzee) it does not limit their ability to be one of the most dangerous and irritatingly difficult creatures you will ever face. The main difference you will notice from that of a regular goblin is their reluctance to face you head on in open battle, instead they resort to guerilla tactics ( hit, run, hide), very seldom leaving the security of the tree tops. Brandishing primitive bows with poison tipped arrows they can topple foes within seconds.

You will never find a Jackal Goblin alone unless sick or dying. These highly social creatures live in small pack communities within the trees, making them extremely lethal in larger groups. Often times you will hear the screams and yelps of warring packs above (usually over territory or prey). Although the sights and sounds of such battles can be terrifying, it is actually what keeps the jackal goblin populations at bay. Whole forests have been burned down, just do bring the creatures out in the open, in the hopes of exterminating them.

The most notable characteristic of the Jackal Goblins ( and where I suspect the name comes from) are the cackling cries made when agitated or excited. When these shrills of simulated laughter & panic fill the air, you best flee, unless you are prepared to lose a few men to the impending onslaught that approaches.

Yes, I made that up....Yes, Im a geek....No, I dont care.

Random creature sketch

I was going to post another war of the worlds sketch card, but I wanted to take a break from posting those to show some of my random sketches. I've recently been experimenting with tan toned paper, and i have to say that I love it. so I'll be posting some of those drawings over the next few days.

War of the worlds sketch card for Cult Stuff " fire in the forest"

Heres one of my favorite environmental sketch cards I did for the War of the worlds trading card set by cult stuff. Based on the novel by hg wells, not the movies . It depicts the martian tripods approaching the forest which they have set on fire with the heat rays. This drawing was rendered with copic markers.

Some artwork That was done for an exclusive Promo card for the upcoming Sinister Trading card set by Asylum Studios.

Was going for a clive barkers meets Little Red riding hood Vibe....tried to make it a little sexy even though she's a disgusting demonic corpse thing...LOL. This was done in Photoshop with a wacom tablet.... I would LOVE a cintique....but.... starving artist thing. Horror art is always really fun to me, doesnt feel like work, I grew up on horror movies, so it just comes natural. I was going to do a full scene, but I thought since its going to be used for a 2.5x3.5 inch card, best focus on the face & torso area. Also I tried to rush as much as possible, because I was taking over for someone who dropped out....closer deadline. Anyway, hope you like it!

I did a random selection...whatever struck my interest at the moment, ghostrider, day of the dead, harley quinn, aliens....lol, you name it.

"Axel" artwork for The Walking Dead Comic Book Trading Card Set

Danny Here, Fans of the show would know axel as the skinny ginger dude with a big mustache who's short lived career on the walking dead show was almost pointless. In the comic book however, he was a fat, balding and bearded biker dude who also was one of the prisoners who greeted the gang upon their arrival at the prison. He was with the group much longer and played a larger part. Anyway, heres one of my sketch cards of him for the walking dead set!

"Andrea Being Attacked" artwork for the walking dead comic book trading card set.

Another one of my walking dead andrea cards for the comic book trading card set. This one is of her being attacked by the serial killer in the jail( cant remember his name). This is the scene where Andrea gets her left cheek slashed & Rick beets the crap out of the dude who did it, until his hand is all mangled. It helps define rick as a character. This is where he starts to loose it & realize screw humans, they're more f'd up than the walkers.Also where andrea gets her signature facial scar. Done in copic markers.

Here is another one of my takes on the martian tripod machines. Loosely based on a conquistadores helmet. Done with copic markers. Also some sequential's for you.
