Honest Abe Lincoln sketch card art for the Civil War Chronicles trading card set

Here are my last civil war sketch cards for "The Civil War Chronicles" trading card set. This is a two piece puzzle card of Abraham Lincoln. Created with copics, watercolor, and some acrylic. I first airbrushed a few layers of a custom made yellowish brown color as the base, and drew on top of that. I then added the splatters but masked the main figure.

Robert E. Lee & Ulysses S. Grant two card puzzles for the Civil War Chronicles trading card set

Robert E. Lee

Ulysses S. Grant

For this set we were asked to make 50% of the cards we contributed into 2 piece puzzle cards (two cards that make up one picture). So here are two of my puzzles.

The first is of Robert E. Lee - I was less than thrilled about how this turned out, he looks a bit cartoonish.

The second is Ulysses S. Grant - I liked this one.

Both were done with copics, watercolors & acrylic.

mondays suck.....bye.

Bombshells : Women of War Sketch card commission

Hello..all

Thought you could use a little boobage! lol.

This is a sketch card commission that I should've posted long ago, but Ive put off because ive had so many pics to post. Its an Artist Proof card that I had left over for the Bombshells : Women of War set by Axebone studios. I was commissioned to do a sexy warrior lady on it, so thats what I did. Also included some progress pics for you. Hope you don't mind the boobs, just doing what the client wanted.

I dont draw many nudes but i will occasionally. If you dont believe the saying " sex sells" heres a fun little experiment to try. Draw your favorite female character & put it on ebay. Then Draw the same character nude, I bet I know which one will sell first and for more money!

"Martian Concept 1" - War of the Worlds sketch card for Cult Stuff

Since I have posted pretty much all of my bombshells cards, I figured I'd start posting the 2nd set of 20 cards that I did for cult stuff's War of The Worlds set, based on the novel by H.G. wells. I had a lot of fun with this set. I also decided to take limited progression scans of these 20.

I decided to play around with the concepts of the martians with this next batch. I felt that my previous martians came out a bit cute so I wanted to focus on making them a bit more menacing.
So here is the first one I came up with. you can see there were a lot of elements that I added that differ from the novel. Hope you like it.

2.5 x3.5 inches - copic markers.

"Headress" Bombshells Sketch Card for the Women of War Set.

Well, I still have a few more star wars pieces to post, but I'm kind of on star wars overload ( I know, I know, Sacrilege) and I figured "let's take a break". plus someone recommended that I take pictures of everything hung up, so I think I'll do that & post everything including the new ones in one big post. So its back to the bombshells pinups. This is my "Headress" card. its kind of a take on a shaman priestess. Its one of MY favorite cards, although since that is the case, then no one else will like it...LOL. Just seems to be the way it goes. This card is for the upcoming Bombshells: women of war, trading card set for Bad Axe studios, and was done in copic markers.

ok...bye.

Bombshells: Women Of War Sketch Card

Good morning, here is another Bombshells sketch card for the Women of War set by Bad Axe Studios. I was trying to go for that traditional pin-up look, but wasn't too fond of how it cam out. should have put more detail in the pupils of the eyes, the collar bone is non-existent, and although the hands are correct, they look funny because the bottom few fingers are cut off. I also think I used a little too much colored pencil on the face, because it looks a little too gritty for me.

Anyway, those are my gripes....what DO I like about it? Hmmmm.....maybe the clouds?

Done with copics, gel pen & a couple prismacolor pencils. Gotta get back to drawing more zombies....take it easy!

War Of the Worlds Sketch Card for Cult Stuff

Another war of the worlds sketch card done for Cult Stuff over in the U.K. Again, I have drawn a martian getting ready to feed. This card is a little farther away, and as I have said before, the martian is just a little too cute for me. I used a simple blotchy red background for this to make the grey skin tone pop. Done with copic markers, gel pen & a bit of acrylic.

Happy Hump Day!

Tripod Sketch Card for Cult Stuff's "War of The Worlds" set

Hello all, I figured I'd start monday off with another sketch card from Cult Stuff's War of the Worlds set, featuring a tripod disintegrating & blowing stuff up!Done with copic markers. Based on the novel by H.G. Wells, although this one deviated a bit because the machine isn't holding the heat ray, its just emitting it from under its hood. I chose to illustrate it this way because I like to visualize the same thing in many different ways. Sometimes this is my Downfall, because when somebody gives me a general description my mind can run wild with a 100 different ways to draw something, that I tend to overanalyze & it may slow me down. I've always wanted to do conceptual work, that way I can just get out all of the different designs in my head & only render out the ones the client wants.

Anyway, On a side note, the Company Cult Stuff who I'm doing the cards for has decided to use my Steampunk tripod as artwork on one of their promo cards promoting their set.

Promotional trading cards are limited prints of cards usually distributed at a special event such as a convention, and this tends to be the only way to get them, that way the attendees have are the only ones allowed to get their hands on them, making them a bit more rare for collectors.

I was also notified that one of my cards was used in an add for the set in Non-sports update magazine(NSU) which is a publication dealing specifically with non sports trading cards.

I'll post both promotions when I have approval.

War of The Worlds Sketch Card for Cult Stuff

Another one of my War of the worlds sketch cards for Cult Stuff - Coming soon! here we have another scenic card, that was created using copic markers & a gel pen, I think I used my brush pen a bit as well. I wanted it to be kind of peaceful & serene, yet menacing at the same time. Used a lot of muted colors like cool greys, dim greens, & some light blues. pretty much handled a lot of the tones in greys & spot colored & blended afterward with color.

" Druid Warrior" BombShells: Women Of War Sketch card for Bad Axe Studios

Well....Its friday... Here is another Bombshells sketch card for the Women of War set being released by Bad Axe studios. I Have a few Returns & AP's are on their way if anyone is interested in a commission.

( return cards are card blanks from the official set that can be commissioned & must be approved by the company prior to final sale, AP cards , or artist proof cards, are pretty much the same except they are specifically printed for the artists on the set, identified by the "AP" marking on the card. AP cards are more rare & can only be obtained from the artist so therefore they are a bit more costly.)

This was done in the usual, Copic markers & a bit of gel pen....

Happy Friday!

War Of the Worlds sketch card for Cult Stuff!

What's this? Could it be? Another Tripod sketch card for the War of The Worlds non-sports trading card Set I'm working on for Cult Stuff? Yup.

This one I did in a sepia tone, inked sepia colored micron, colored with copics & used a little white acrylic paint here and there. Looking at it now, I suppose it could've benefitted from a little black...but hey...there's always next time. I've finished about half of my next 20, all are inked & I'm hoping to have them all finalized by today!

Hang in there, almost friday!
