The Walking Dead The Comic Book Trading card set Audition Sketch Cards

Its almost Time, "The walking Dead Comic Book 2" trading card set is coming out in a few weeks....so its time to start showing them off! I'm going to start off by posting a few of my audition sketch cards. Yes....every artist had to submit 4 audition sketch cards in order to be qualified to work on the set.The cards were then approved by the art directors at which point you were sent the rest of the cards. Here are two of mine, Michonne & Maggie. I had a ton of fun working on the set, by far one of the best to work on. I did a total of 80+ cards. These two were done with the usual copic markers. In my opinion, the audition cards weren't that great, the cards definitely got better as I went a long & loosened up..... I'll be receiving 9 Artist proof blanks for commissions, two of which are spoken for.
Happy Hump Day!

DAWN : New Horizons sketch cards - Sir Mix A lot would be proud!

Well, I figured that I'll go ahead and start posting the sketch cards I recently did for Joseph Michael Linsner's DAWN:New horizons official trading card set, since they've already been displayed on facebook. However, I will be attaching some progress pics exclusively on my blog. This set is being done by Breygent marketing, to coincide with the release of Linsners new book. Linsner will also be doing some cards for the set I beleive.
Anyway...just another sexy girl set..LOL. From one to the next it seems. On these cards I used all types of mediums...copic markers, colored pencils, acrylic and even and airbrush a couple of times, until it clogged on me & I had to take it all apart for a thorough cleaning.... Hope you like 'em.

"Amongst the Red weeds" War of the worlds sketch card for cult stuff.

Here is another war of the worlds sketch card, done in copic markers. I decided to depict a moment from the novel, towards the end where the protagonist is walking amongst the quickly growing red weeds that seemed to sprout up uncontrollably when the martians first arrived.
take it easy!....I'll have progress pics starting with my next 20 WotW cards.

War Of the Worlds sketch card for Cult Stuff!

What's this? Could it be? Another Tripod sketch card for the War of The Worlds non-sports trading card Set I'm working on for Cult Stuff? Yup.
This one I did in a sepia tone, inked sepia colored micron, colored with copics & used a little white acrylic paint here and there. Looking at it now, I suppose it could've benefitted from a little black...but hey...there's always next time. I've finished about half of my next 20, all are inked & I'm hoping to have them all finalized by today!
Hang in there, almost friday!

The Ritual
I forgot to post this little number when I was posting the rest of my Sketch cards for breygent marketing's "worlds of fantasy" set. So here she is. This was my base card (or printed trading card) to be part of the normal set. This card was actually converted to a 3d lenticular card, which turned out pretty cool, but it scans horribly, so I've decided to post the normal version.3d Lenticular in case you don't know ( I had to look it up) is like those old hologram stickers or trading cards, that look like certain parts of the picture has been pushed back.
For this set, although it was relatively open ended, we did have a few guidelines to follow & witches were one of the subjects listed. So this is my version of a witch. Instead of having a broom wielding dark vixen, I decided to have a more realistic approach. real witches perform rituals, chanting & blood sacrifices to the energies they wish to summon....so thats what I was going for...but I had to keep her sexy, because that's typically what's desired for projects like these. Was thinking of submitting this one to a contest, but wasn't sure.
