Sinister Promo Card artwork for Asylum Studios

Some artwork That was done for an exclusive Promo card for the upcoming Sinister Trading card set by Asylum Studios.

Was going for a clive barkers meets Little Red riding hood Vibe....tried to make it a little sexy even though she's a disgusting demonic corpse thing...LOL. This was done in Photoshop with a wacom tablet.... I would LOVE a cintique....but.... starving artist thing. Horror art is always really fun to me, doesnt feel like work, I grew up on horror movies, so it just comes natural. I was going to do a full scene, but I thought since its going to be used for a 2.5x3.5 inch card, best focus on the face & torso area. Also I tried to rush as much as possible, because I was taking over for someone who dropped out....closer deadline. Anyway, hope you like it!

Here's the initial Marker sketch! Then I threw it into photoshop & used it as an underpainting!

"Martian Concept 1" - War of the Worlds sketch card for Cult Stuff

Since I have posted pretty much all of my bombshells cards, I figured I'd start posting the 2nd set of 20 cards that I did for cult stuff's War of The Worlds set, based on the novel by H.G. wells. I had a lot of fun with this set. I also decided to take limited progression scans of these 20.

I decided to play around with the concepts of the martians with this next batch. I felt that my previous martians came out a bit cute so I wanted to focus on making them a bit more menacing.
So here is the first one I came up with. you can see there were a lot of elements that I added that differ from the novel. Hope you like it.

2.5 x3.5 inches - copic markers.

"It Came from the Cylinder" - war of the worlds sketch card for cult stuff

Here's another of my "war of the Worlds " sketch cards being put out by Cult Stuff over in the U.K. I have to admit...I had a ton of fun working on this set. you had a certain level of freedom to do what you want, as long as you new the literature, you were fine. I wish I could have done more, however people who wanted me on sets kept promising me work & never came through....so I got screwed. Watcha gonna do?

This card was inspired by the part of the novel when the first martian cylinder opened & the protagonist saw the creatures eyes glaring at him. Done with copic markers & multi-liners.

Happy Friday!

Vampirella / Vampi-Daughter sketch card commission

Last Of my recent commissions was this one. I called it Vampi-daughter. A client who wishes to remain nameless has a dughter who loves Vampirella. So he decided to have me draw his daughter as Vampirella. Which is all fine & good, but I had somewhat of a dilemma. What's the first thing you think about when you imagine Vampirella.....the costume right? Here's a pic so you get the idea.

It would seem a bit strange to me, to clothe a young child in this manner. Although the style that this drawing was done in is very cartooney, I'm still basing on a real person, who happens to be a child...so it felt weird. None the less it still needed to be done, so I had to find a way around it. After a few thumbnails done in pencil we went back & forth until we decided on a caricature & pose. This is how it turned out. The client loved it & he even had me design their family christmas card. I'll post that one later. Done in watercolor & marker.

Unstoppable Cards Fantasy art sketch card - Orc Dude!

Ok...so this is the last single card I'm posting from this set because as I said before I did 40 of them & there's just too many of them. I'm now backed up on posting, because I've completed about three different card projects since finishing these. I will however, be posting the entire set of them in sheets that I scanned in, so you will have the opportunity to see what is out there.

Ok, back to the card at hand. I think I like this one the most....I don't know why. Which means that everyone else will probably like this one the least. Why? I don't know, just seems to be the way things work out. Maybe because I'm the artist & I look at different aspects of the art, rather than what's pleasing to the eye. At any rate, here's my orc dude! Copics & a brush pen.

Fantasy art sketch card of a demon for unstoppable cards

Ok..back to the fantasy cards. Here is actually the first card I did in the set. I was mostly trying to figure out how to work with the stock. Came out well considering....but the learning curve was about 7-10 cards. Anyway, here's another demon done with copics & a brush pen. Just goes to show...you give me the option...I'm going to draw a monster 80% of the time.

Hang in there...almost friday!
